Shot Girl Agency FAQs
What venue owners ask us before booking a shot sales team.
Nothing upfront. Our shot sales service runs on a commission-only basis, so there is no booking fee, no retainer and no hourly rate — you only pay commission on shots actually sold. Bottle service, hostess and entertainment packages are priced separately and discussed on an introductory call.
If you have a busy floor and a late licence, almost certainly. Shot sellers work best where people are standing, moving and socialising rather than seated all night — nightclubs, late bars, student venues, sports bars on event nights and festival bars all work well. We work with everything from major hospitality groups to independent single-site operators.
At the end of every night. Once the shift ends, payment for all product sold is settled straight to the venue in whichever payment method you prefer. There is no invoicing cycle to chase and nothing sitting on account.
You provide the product from your own stock, which means you keep control of what is sold, at what price and at what margin. Our sellers arrive with all of their own equipment.
They read the room, approach guests, and use conversation, energy and games to sell shots directly where people are standing. Because they are on commission, they keep selling all night rather than waiting to be approached. Alongside the sales they lift the atmosphere, take pressure off your bar and shorten the queue for guests who only want a quick round.
The opposite, in practice. Every shot sold on the floor is a round that is not queueing at the bar, which shortens waits and frees your bar team for higher-value orders. Our sellers coordinate with your floor and bar staff throughout the shift, and they are managed by our in-house team rather than adding to your management load.
Yes. We combine sales training with responsible service education, including Challenge 25 and Drinkaware, so our teams represent both your venue and the wider industry properly. Our sellers work in front of your customers and on your licence, and they are briefed accordingly.
Ours. Our shot sellers are engaged by Effervescent as self-employed contractors, recruited, trained and managed by our in-house team. They do not go on your payroll — you get the sales without taking on the recruitment, training or admin.
They overlap, and the industry uses the terms loosely. 'Shot girl' is the phrase most guests and venue owners use. We say 'shot seller' because our teams include men and women and because selling, not serving, is the job. A brand ambassador is a related but separate role: representing a specific drinks brand at an activation, trade show or sampling campaign rather than selling from your venue's own stock. We supply both.
Founded in Nottingham in 2022, Effervescent is now headquartered in Dubai. We operate nationwide across the UK, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Bristol and Sheffield, and internationally in Spain, Greece, the UAE and the USA.
Yes. Regular weekly nights are the bulk of what we do, but we also staff one-off events, festival bars, brand activations, seasonal peaks and private parties. Seasonal venues that only trade part of the year are a normal part of our client base — one of our top-performing partners in 2025 traded only six months of the year.
Two things, and both are checkable. We are performance-driven rather than a booking service: our teams are commission-based, so they are financially incentivised to sell rather than simply turn up. And every single client we have taken on since day one is still working with us. We are rated five stars by over 400 venues, and in 2025 our top three partner venues generated £166,905, £98,462 and £69,607 respectively.
It depends on your footfall, licence hours and crowd, so anyone quoting a flat figure before seeing your venue is guessing. What we can tell you is the range we have delivered: over £2,000,000 across our partner venues, with our top-performing single venue taking £166,905 in 2025. On an introductory call we will give you a realistic estimate for your specific site.
Bottle service teams for VIP tables, hostesses and promotional staff for front of house and guestlist, brand ambassadors for activations and trade shows, and dancers and multi-skilled performers through our sister business. Most of our larger partners run more than one of these on the same night, managed together.
